Aldbourne & Baydon Aid in Sickness Fund
The Aldbourne & Baydon Aid in Sickness Fund “benefits the sick or those in financial difficulty due to sickness” by giving small grants to residents of the two parishes, and lending them (and their short-term visitors) items of medical equipment which perhaps should have been provided on discharge from hospital.
Debbie Moxon represents the Fund in Baydon but all applications for small grants and medical equipment must eventually be made to Jocelyn Evans in Aldbourne, via the contact details below.
All bona fide enquiries are welcome, including those made by friends or neighbours.
This project has been providing support to the community for many years. The formation of the NHS led (in about 1953) to the funds in Aldbourne’s defunct branch of WW2’s District Nursing Association being allowed a ‘change of purpose’ under Charity Commission rules. The funds were then used to form the Aldbourne and Baydon Aid in Sickness Fund (the Fund) exclusively to benefit residents in the two parishes.
