Aldbourne Community Speed Watch
You may have spotted members of the Community Speed Watch project monitoring & recording speeding vehicles on the B4192 in the village.
The objective is to collect data that will help in proving the need for speed limiting measures on the very busy South Street and West Street (B4192).
This community-led project has the approval of the Parish Council. The group consists of a small band of volunteers and new recruits are always welcomed!
They currently have a team of 10 and work in groups of 3 at a time, so once you’re trained the commitment is as much or as little as you like, but on average is 2 hours/month. They are only able to monitor traffic along West Street at present, but they’re working on getting South Street approved as well.
In order to be part of the team that goes out and monitors speed you first need to attend a training session at Police HQ in Devizes.
Please see the leaflet below for information. If you’re interested in helping out please contact Claire Ashley (see details below) and she’ll be able to reserve a place on the training programme for you.
