Flood Wardens and Plan

Following many months of preparation and discussion, Aldbourne now has a Flood Plan and a team of volunteer Flood Wardens.

A copy of the Plan itself and an explanatory leaflet with contact details are shown below as download attachments.

The Flood Plan has been approved by the Parish Council with input from the various relevant agencies (Thames Water, Wiltshire Council and the Environment Agency). It is designed to be ‘open’ so it can be amended in the light of lessons learnt from any flooding event.

The Flood Wardens are all volunteers and are there to help in certain flooding circumstances, but the first people to contact in most situations are the relevant agencies listed in the leaflet.

The Flood Warden Team is separate from the Drainage Improvement Team (DIG), see this page for details, who are still working on the longer term initiatives to help alleviate flooding in Aldbourne.

If you would like to know more please feel free to contact one of the Flood Wardens, Nick Josephy, Jim Oliver, Graham Cook and Alan Watson, see details below.
