Broken glass on Palmer’s Field

Update 2 – Unfortunately the deliberate smashing of glass is continuing in this area. If anyone sees the people responsible would they please contact Wiltshire Police on 101, and also Karen Clay, the Parish Clerk, details shown below.

Update 1 – This matter was raised by two councillors at last week’s PC meeting. They have also been removing glass from the same area. Hopefully joint efforts can now be made to prevent this happening again.

The website group have received the following message from a concerned resident:

“I have just filled up a carrier bag with broken glass from around one of the rugby goals on Palmer’s field. This is the second time in almost as many weeks I have done this. There are plenty of people who walk their dogs on this field and the damage and pain that could be inflicted on their feet does not bear thinking about. Also someone could trip over into the shards and I dread to think of the implications of that.”

“There seems to be a minority of people who are determined to spoil the facilities for everyone. This matter needs to be brought up before the council. I have kept the glass for evidence and have also taken photographs.”

If anyone has any information about this matter could they please contact Karen Clay the Parish Clerk, details shown below.
