Evening closures of M4

The Parish Council has received the roadworks notification below for works on the eastbound M4. As you can see the diversion is not via Aldbourne, though people are still likely to use this route. However, as these are overnight closures any traffic should be fairly minimal.

If anyone does notice any significant problems with increased traffic please let the Parish Council know.

Dear Stakeholder,

M4 Junctions 14 to 15: Road Closures

I am writing to inform you that the Highways Agency will be resurfacing a section of the M4 eastbound carriageway between Swindon and Liddington, to ensure the surface remains in a safe and serviceable condition.

The work is scheduled to start from Monday 28 April 2014 and is expected to be completed by Friday 16 May 2014*.

For the safety of the workforce and our customers, and to keep overall disruption to a minimum, there will be a full closure of the M4 eastbound carriageway between junctions 15 (Swindon) and 14 (Hungerford) from 10pm to 6am each weeknight. A clearly signed diversion route will be in place via the A346 to Marlborough, A4 to Hungerford then A338 to Junction 14.

I would like to apologise in advance for any disturbance or inconvenience caused by the works. Should you require any further information, please contact the Highways Agency Information Line on 0300 123 5000 or email them at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

*Please be aware that these works have been carefully programmed but may be postponed at short notice due to circumstances beyond our control. Advance warning of the confirmed closures dates will be displayed on black and yellow signs along the motorway.

Yours faithfully,

Kathryn Blofield
Communications Coordinator, EM Highway Services Ltd
On behalf of the Highways Agency
