Annual Proms Concert on the Green

Aldbourne Band are preforming at 4:00pm on Sunday 3rd August on the village green in Aldbourne. There will be a tea and cake stall run by the Friends of the Band, and a grand raffle with £100 cash first prize.

All proceeds go to help this prestigious championship section band to continue competing at such a high level, and to help encourage youngsters in the Training Band.

Please come along, bring a picnic and enjoy a range of music ending up with a sing-along and flag waving. No charge is made for this entertaining event, but a donations bucket is passed to help fund the band performances.

If it is wet the concert will be held in St. Michaels Church. Sponsorship is currently being sort to help this Band, formed 154 years ago, maintain its Championship Section Status. Please contact Chairman James Sheppard if you can help and would like to be associated with such an historic band.

The Band are looking forward to performing in 2 new concerts this year – “Oh what a lovely Prom” on 20th September in the Steam Museum, Swindon with the Military Wives choir to raise money for Help for Heroes, and the second one on 27th September at St. Bartholomew’s School, Newbury, with a Grieg Concert.
