Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal 2013

Please see the following news about the Poppy Appeal from Peter Mannering:

This year’s Poppy Appeal in Aldbourne raised £2424, a magnificent total and £30 more than in 2012. This was a record for recent years.

I would like to thank all for their generous donations and particularly the hard-working and dedicated house-to house collectors, some of whom have been knocking on your doors every year since 1991.

The 17 collectors raised £1461 between them; St Michael’s School, the shops, pubs, Community Junction and Nursing Home raised a further £750. In addition £426 was donated at the Remembrance Sunday Service at the War Memorial Hall, divided equally between the Poppy Appeal and the Royal Star and Garter homes for ex-servicemen (and women) at Richmond.

Thank you Aldbourne and we shall be grateful for your support again next year, the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War.
