Wild Flower Project update

Please see below for an update on the village’s Wild Flower Project (thanks to Alison and Jo):

It’s ‘blooming wonderful’ to see flowers starting to appear!

Butterflies and bees have found the patch; the White Campion and Bedstraws are favourites for both night and day flying moths. Like many gardeners at the moment, we are hoping to beat the local blackbird to the wild strawberries – if only to be able to take a photograph!

The trays of seedlings kindly propagated by the Scouts will be planted out during the summer. Field Scabious will be ready for September, and Cowslips and Primroses will follow later in the autumn. Watch out for announcements on the Aldbourne Net and posters around the village – everyone is welcome to lend a hand.

This project is privately funded and is supported by the Parish Council. More details can be found here.

For more information please contact Alison Edmonds, see details below.

Photos of the project can be found on this page on the Aldbourne Village Gallery.
