Defibrillators in Aldbourne
The project is progressing well. Two defibrillators have been very generously donated, one by Nigel Keen of Aldbourne Airport Services and the other anonymously. A huge thank you to both donors.
We are delighted to have just received funds from Aldbourne Carnival Committee for a third defibrillator – a huge thank you to them too.
We aim to have installed the first in the village in early February. One of the defibrillators will be installed in the Square. The plan envisages three others strategically placed to cover the rest of the village – in Lottage Road, Whitley Road and Farm Lane. Please download a copy of the plan via the link below.
Tim and Ed Pope (the Electrical Contractors) have very kindly offered to install the defibrillators for us – thank you very much Tim and Ed.
More funds are accumulating and a number of anonymous donations have been given or promised. We would particularly like to thank John Jarvis and his team, who raised an amazing £2,200 at the Blue Boar Christmas Auction, divided equally between Prospect Hospice and the Defibrillator Fund – thank you team.
The next step is a series of free CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) sessions, including training with the defibs themselves. These will be co-ordinated by Richard Schofield and the Community Heartbeat Trust.
Dates for your diary are:
- Saturday 10th March from 10:00am – 12:00pm at St. Michael’s School
- Wednesday 28th March from 7:00pm – 8:30pm at St. Michael’s School
- Saturday 28th April 10:00am – 12:00pm in the Memorial Hall
Look out for further details on posters around the village and on this website.
