Dr Owen-Jones retires
Please see the following message from Mike Hillas and Rachel Offley, Aldbourne reps for Ramsbury and Wanborough Surgeries:
As you will probably be aware, Dr Rodney Owen-Jones retired last Friday, 29th June.
At a meeting held in the Wanborough Surgery the previous evening, representatives from Aldbourne, Baydon and around Wanborough, together with other members of the practice, presented him with gifts arising from the contributions made by patients in each village.
Margaret Greenwood had made a presentation album containing many letters and cards in which patients expressed their thanks to Rodney for his 29 years of dedicated service to the local population. Other gifts included framed fishing flies (Rodney is a keen fisherman), vouchers for seats at Covent Garden Opera and a set of National Garden vouchers. Dr Jo Rodney-Jones was presented with a basket of flowers prepared by Margaret.
Overall, a very happy evening and a great send off for a very popular local figure.
We also extend our thanks to Sue and Mark at the Post Office Stores for handling the contributions.
