Petrol thieves & other thefts
We have had several reports of recent incidents of theft in the village.
Firstly a vehicle on Crooked Corner has had its fuel tank drilled from underneath, and most of the petrol removed. The incident occurred overnight.
The owner subsequently drove to Hungerford and proceeded to fill the car back up, unaware of the hole underneath. Thankfully the resultant large pool of petrol did not ignite, so serious injuries and further damage were averted.
If you visit the Marlborough Neighbourhood Policing Team Facebook page you’ll see this type of incident is alarmingly common.
Secondly, a cannabis grinder found at the bottom of an elderly gentlemen’s garden after ten of his solar lights were stolen from his garden on Lottage Road in the early hours of Monday morning.
Lastly a mountain bike was taken from a property in West Street.
