I've searched, but all the topics are several years old.

Can anybody confirm if:

1) They get a good freeview TV signal (since digital switch over I would hope that we do)
2) Which direction their aerial points in

Cheers !

Go for Freesat if you can, much more reliable and no "Dave" channel ie less distractions > increased productivity > enormously happy spouse.

It depends where you live in the village as to what free view channels you are able to receive. Those living in the area of the Square part of South Street and West Street, The Green, Lottage Road and Oxford Street can receive their free view from the Aldbourne relay which comes from Rowridge via Hannington, however the Aldbourne relay is only classed as a part relay transmitter and not all free view channels are available. Other areas of the village such as Farm Lane and the Garlings can received their free view direct from Hannington and can get all of the free view channels. Those persons living in the elevated parts of the village such as the top of Oxford Street can receive free view from the Aldbourne relay, Hannington and Mendip. Freesat will give you all of the free view channels and can be received anywhere in the village.

Here's a good comparison site:

As it says, Dave isn't available on Freesat.... zipper
